For those who wish to watch the webcast at home or from another residence, here are several key qualifiers to help make the webcasting experience a positive one:

  • Do NOT try to watch the webcast on a WiFi signal, even if its at home. WiFi is not as broad a connection as a wired connection, and the router itself can cause buffering (for techies - see your router's QoS settings)

  • If you do have WiFi at home, run an ethernet cable from the hub to the computer directly to help guarantee a better and more reilable signal.

  • Just because you might have cable internet access at home, that doesn't mean that you'll have a clear webcasting signal! Because of the nature of cable internet signal sharing, folks with at DSL connection might get a better (more consistent) signal.

  • Close down other programs on the computer that might take up occasional processing (email for example).

  • If you have a network at home, turn off other computers/devices sharing the network to reduce overall traffic.

  • Mac users click here to download the appropriate viewer.

Any Webcast Advertisements purchased during this period will be applied towards the webcast scheduled for: Oct. 19th-20th.

District Webcasts will be hosted by Mr. Steve Stripling from the Anchorage, AK chapter and co-hosted by our District Webcast Guru, Mr. George Nowik. Steve joins the webcasting crew as the new District Marketing guru, and has a long-standing business providing marketing and PR services to small and medium sized businesses in Anchorage. He also hosts a weekly radio show based on the RV Travel industry. George is a long time computer and networking guy, and sports a gold medal as the baritone of the 2002 Evergreen District Champion quartet, "Rivalry".
