Comments: As a lover of the barbershop artform, I especially love the male voices and their ability to ring chords. I, personally, hear more overtones produced by the male choruses and quartets than I do with the women's voices.

Comments: I'm a 46 year BHS member from Northeastern District and fanatic Realtime fan! Also the 'Haps' and Seattle Sound. The Haps and SS sang at our Bolton Landing festival in the 90's and my quartet Four-n-Aires had a hallarious weekend doing the Worchester Ma. show with the Haps in 1977. Enjoy your site! Comments: Just checking the Evergreen Dist. and thought I would say hello from NY. I wish I was a barber- shopper way back in '59/61 when I was at Ft.Lewis. I would have visited a local chapter for sure. I have fond memories of Mt. Rainier, having hamburger pizza in Centralia, and seeing the Ventures perform when they were just starting out. Some beautiful country out there. Thanks for your time. All the best, Dave P.

Comments: My little brother, Ken, who sings with the new Vancouver/Portland chorus, just returned from District contest yesterday, and informed me that Kenny Hawkinson passed away last week, and that there is to be a memorial service for Kenny. I've tried finding something on the website, but haven't been able to find out when and where. Could somebody get back to me, and let me know, please?

Name: Karen HAMPE Gatchell    From: Indianapolis, IN
Date: 9/22/2003

Comments: I used to live in Portland and sang with City of Roses, Larry Scheel directed then. Sang in 3 Regional Champion Quartets, SOLITARES, VALLEY PIPERS and RENAISSANE. I have since retired from S.A. for health reasons, miss singing but still enjoy listening. I'm trying to find out if the quartet with Danny, last name escapes me, but in Portland in the 1960's he moved sang baritone with THE SQUIRES. I sang at his wedding. Thanks for having this available to reminence. Karen Hampe now Gatchell.

My dad, Leo Barton was an active Barbershopper from the time he started the Tacoma Chapter in 1947 until he died in Seattle, 1974. It was so much a part of our lives that we all loved. Very good memories of many good people and times. I wish you all well!

This would be really nice so i could show my teacher what we did since i was the only one to go from my town. It was a great experience and it was fun. There were some pictures that existed but now i can't find them!
